Models & Methods for Project Selection systematically examines in this book treatment the latest work in the field of project selection modeling. The models presented are drawn from mathematical programming, decision theory, and finance. These models are examined in two categorical streams: the management science stream and the financial model stream. The book describes the assumptions and limitations of each model and provides appropriate solution methodologies. Its organization follows three main themes:

Criteria for Choice: Chapters 1-3 investigate the effect of the choice of optimization criteria on the results of the portfolio optimization problem. This group of chapters examines the multiobjective linear programming approach, discusses the appropriate methods for adjusting for time and risk in the project selection problem, and expands on the discussion of optimization models and NPV.

Risk and Uncertainty: Chapters 4-7 deal with uncertainty in the project selection problem. The models developed in this section are based on probability distribution assumptions or estimates and deal with uncertainty in some aspect of the project selection model.

Non-Linearity and Interdependence: These chapters deal with problems of non-linearity and interdependence as they arise in the project selection problem. The ability to handle non-linear problems allows the application of the methodology to a far wider range of problems. Similarly, the ability to model interdependence between projects - as in the Information Technology models - is an important step in generalization. Chapters 8, 9 and 10 present solution methodologies, which can be used to solve these most general project selection models.

Here is a book, where all the songs of Bernart de Ventadorn are together including music, original texts, literary translations and free translations. The music is transcripted, and unfortunately not in orginal notation, but the quality of the transciptions is good. The litarary translations are a great help in understandig the poems. The free translations are poems based on the original. They don't realy match with the original and they are not of the same quality. Despite the last point, it is a very good book, a must-have for every-one interested in twelfth century trobador-music.

Gorgeous and sensual.......2006-03-07
Go into any version of the Christian Bible and find a tepid, shrivelled, boring and severely edited translation. Is the 'Song of Songs' a little too explicit for religions where women are dismissed as evil temptresses? Hm, I wonder. Look at the 'Tanakh', and we are closer to the truth. But read Marcia Falk and feel the original Hebrew's luscious bloom of sexual longing and fulfillment. Dangerous stuff, this, if one is socially conservative or easily shocked. Never pornographic, it is the unmistakeable imagery, the symbolism, that makes this 'Song of Songs' infinitely rewarding literature. Here, men and women are equal manifestations of God's presence on earth; when unified on every level of being, divinity is attainable and fully realized. We are closer to God.
The early Christian Church certainly found female sexual expression repugnant; although I am not a male bashing feminist, I can see how such power could be intimidating within a hierarchical, male dominated political organism. I can only suppose the offending, offensive passages were removed and sterilized. In modern Jewish expression, sensuality is tempered by marriage symbolism (as mentioned above): human beings are married to God, and share their most intimate relationship with the Godhead.
Regardless of how one imbues these passages with meaning, this is a lovely translation. I particularly enjoy the inclusion of the original Hebrew. With dictionary in hand and Marcia Falk's translation, my understanding is wonderfully deepened.

For years I have been wanting to find this book again, after my own copy from the original printing was lost in a move. I was even tempted to steal a copy from the library, but since it is a scripture from the Bible, that seemed unwise. Marcia Falk's translation of this Song of Songs is uniquely beautiful, and I am overjoyed that it has returned to print!

How lucky we are to have Marcia Falk's wonderful translation of the Song of Songs back in print. This is undoubtedly the best---and the most literary---English translation available. The Song of Songs, the only book of love poetry in the Bible, is remarkable for its poetic beauty and for its nonsexist presentation of sexual love. Marcia Falk does a marvelous job of rendering the ancient Hebrew text into lyrical and evocative English poems. Falk's inspired translation is based on her groundbreaking scholarship. It's fascinating for anyone with a scholarly interest in the text, and exciting for anyone who loves good poetry. The book is also physically gorgeous, illustrated with beautiful, sensual drawings by the artist Barry Moser.

Audience pleaser!.......2006-09-20
If you are looking for a script for regional theatre that is an audience-pleaser, look no further. I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change romps happily through the modern mating game, from dating to marriage, to children, and all that comes after. It's a collection of funny scenes, punctuated with sometimes hilarious songs, so actors get to jump from one wildly different character to another.
I'm currently in a production of this show at a regional theatre in a very conservative town, and the crowds seem to love it here. The script is a solid PG13 (there is a good bit of profanity), and the authors acknowledge that different theatres may need to make different edits to preserve the good will of subscribers.
The writing is witty, so as long as the performers can have fun with it, the audience will do the rest.

The production at Theatre at Old Town (San Diego) was fun, funny, fabulous, worth every cent, charming, and when it comes back (especially with the cast I saw!) I will definitely see it again. After all . . . 8 times was simply not enough!!
Don't miss this ... and listening to the CD brings it all back ... and allows me to sing-a-long!!

I've seen the musical production and it was awesome! It is an ingeneious account of the journey from the dating game to marriage. The lyrics are hilarious and the music is great. The book itself might not seem very appealing. Go see the musical or buy the CD, and then you'll want to read the book and the lyrics again and again.

I am actually not fond of Vai. He is a great guitar player but I think he plays for fame than for passion, but this album is truly a masterpiece. This album has licks that makes you say "wow!!" like the other albums and this album has PASSION. He really felt these songs. I strongly advice this album. It's definetely a five star. Don't miss it.

First of I'm not in the habit of buying books that have no plot or can't teach me anything or at least be entertaining in some way.But now I must admit I'm glad I got this book.This book is all about the lyrics I grew up listening to.On some of these songs I never fully understood the words or I didn't remenber them until I found this book.This book contains some of the best songs that came out of the Motown era.While under the leadership of Berry Gordy Motown put together a group of talented singers,arrangers,producers and songwriters.The lyrics that people like Marvin Gaye,Smokey Robinson,Stevie Wonder and Holland-Dozier-Holland wrote beautiful pomes that go straight to the heart.As you read the lyrics you can hear the music that goes with the song in your head.Taking you back to the sixes.In conclusion as I was reading this book I must admit I was wrong.This book does have a plot in a strange way.The plot of this book is to take us back to an era when songs were true pomes of love.Lyrics that taught us how to express our feelings toward those we love.And those songs found a way to somehow entertain us along the way.

Amazing album, amazing tab.......2007-02-27
This was probably Joe's finest ablums with the most killer solos...it has alot of meaning embedded in it...anyhow if you want to play like joe this is the book to buy...most of all his songs (besides the ones he sings in)are just fluent and beautiful...my personal favorite is the title song "Is There Love In Space" it really reflects on the name...and it has the craziest solo ever!!!...but if you are a beginner this book might be a little advanced...so i wouldn't reccommend this book for the shorties(keep working on those exercices)!!...but overall this is a great tab...all of songs are easy to understand and will have you play like the guitar master himself in no time...peace
