This book got me through Anatomy.......2006-12-19
This book goes with the textbook required for my Anatomy class, so it really helped a lot. This book was my Anatomy Bible for the semester and it really, really aided my studies. I highly recommend this book. I found myself labling the pictures more than coloring them, who has time to color pictures when they are trying to make a good grade in a subject as hard as this :)
Customer Reviews:
Now this is a very good question bank.......2006-12-27
This book has all formats of questions to go with the chapters of the Biochemistry 5th edition. In contrast to the similar book with Albert's cell biology - this one is complete with all answered and expained. For the GRE (Biochemistry, Biology and USMLE) tester the book is GOLDEN!!!! They have plenty of out favorite multichoice questions at a correct detail to where you can learn the information at a deep level to do very well on the exams. I would test myself before and after I read a chapter and found that very helpful in studying the material. This book is more than worth the money.

Laboratory Manual to accompany Human Biology
ASIN: 0072347333 |
Book Description
This concise full-color manual is designed for students with minimal background in the physical and biological sciences who are pursuing careers in allied health fields. The 47 laboratory exercises are succinct and often divided into several separate procedures. This allows the instructor to select those exercises or parts that will best meet the needs of a particular program. Laboratories require a minimal amount of equipment, thereby preventing excessive lab costs.
Customer Reviews:
Most awkwardly worded anatomy book I've encountered!!.......2007-09-24
This textbook is supposed to be written for a student who has never had anatomy and going into allied health professional field. The wording and sentance structure is so awkward, redundant, and not clear. Terms are scattered so haphazardly that it can make reading this text a chore. Several members of my anatomy class have discussed how the chapters take so much effort to read and comprehend while the outline at the end of each chapter is crystal clear.
THIS LAB IS FAB.......2001-08-17
I cannot say enough about how well this lab manual is written to coincide with the textbook, Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology. Being one of the most challeging courses I have yet to take, I found this manual a tremendous help, especially with the visuals. The diagrams are fabulous and helped me tremendously to memorize the parts that were crucial on tests. The chapters on dissection were written very clearly and well organized. I found this book to be a great aid in helping me achieve an A average for my class.
Essentials of Human Anatomy & Physiology.......2000-11-13
This book is an excellent book for beginner students of anatomy. Everything is explained in simple terms. This graphics are superb! I highly reccommend this book for anyone trying to learn anatomy.

A&P.......2007-10-03
Unfortunately the class that I bought this text for is only for the Physiology side and I don't use the Anatomy content at all. As for the Physiology content I think that they do a very good job of explaining complex concepts in a simple student-friendly way.
it was required for me so i bought it.......2007-03-10
goood book, well organized, but guys its A&P. freaking hard
great product!.......2006-11-10
i recieved this book in brand new conditions just as promised! i am completly satisfied with the book!! i also recieved it in a timely matter.
Professor thought all wrong!.......2006-06-15
Although my professor thought most of the information in the textbook was wrong, it was a great guide to use both online and in class. Great illustrations!
Not Recommended.......2006-05-21
I bought this book for my Anatomy and Physiology 1 class in college. It was the required book for the class and the first semester we were using it. Upon going through we found numerous problems with information in the book. For example, there is an illustration of a reflex on page 419 and the foot is on backwards (according to the direction of the spinal cord). This is only one of many, many small problems with the book.
I do however give it two stars because the website accompanying the book gives a lot of explanations for each chapter with videos to better see what the chapter talks about.
If you're getting this book for independent study I recommend something else because this book has a lot of information that is wrong and you won't know to correct it. If you have a teacher who can point out the little qualms with this book, go for it but buy at your own risk.

Book Description
Excited states and free radicals are involved in the normal physiology of living systems, in pathological processes (including lipid peroxidation, inflammation, Parkinson's disease, cancer, and aging), in the mechanisms of drug action, and in the photochemotherapies such as the PUVA therapy
for skin diseases and PDT for cancer. This text introduces the reader to this rapidly expanding field, one that lies at the borderlines of physics, chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and medicine. The authors explore in particular how time-resolved spectroscopic methods have found solutions at the
molecular level to biological and medical problems. Topics include the nature of excited states and free radicals and the techniques for their study, activated oxygen species, DNA, proteins, carotenoids and photosynthetic reaction centers, photodermatology and melanogenesis, and aspects of cancer
related to radio-, chemo-, and photodynamic therapy. Researchers and graduate students in photochemistry, photobiology, photomedicine, radiation chemistry and biology, and cancer therapies will find this book to be of very significant interest.
