Really Biomechanics and a Good Buy.......2001-03-13

A very good presentation of the knowledge of engineering mechanics applied to human motion. The first chapter provides a necessary and sufficient outline of the human system and the related studies. After that, basic engineering mechanics theories are discussed with elaborations and examples zeroing on human body motions. A candidate for a textbook for undergraduate course in biomechanics, and a book to be owned by engineering mechanics instructors.

The book is a collection of about 20 very good
chapters, written by different experts in the field.
Many of the chapters are reviews of existing literature;
some are new contributions.

It tells you everything that was known about
the biomechanics of muscles at the date of
publication (1991), and is still a valuable
reference.

If this book had been available to me 3 years ago, my path to developing an automated test system would have been much smoother. It is a comprehensive coverage of all the aspects of a test system development program which I have recently undertaken, including some areas (such as upgrading obsolete systems) which were not relevant to my situation.

The book provides a one-stop reference for the essential information required in the development process for a test system, including choosing and setting up the most appropriate hardware. The book was technically accurate, and the content is an accurate reflection of the title. It is well laid out and easy to read and understand the principles being presented.

Clear emphasis was made of the planning and specification stage of the development. The book contains a wealth of practical information, ideal for the engineer working with ATE test systems.

A Review of "Test System Design: A Systematic Approach".......2001-01-18

Test System Design: A Systematic Approach is the only book that I have found that fully covers the subject of designing and assembling custom test systems. It is full of practical hints and tips and would be of practicular value to junior engineers. In summary I would highly recommend this book.

Teaching Children Who Struggle should be required reading for any teacher of young children. Given a specific deficit, there are multiple strategies and instructional procedures that will remedy the issue. Material from Math Recovery is clearly explained and convincingly supported.

Super book! Great practical ideas for this mom and teacher! Both my 9 and 12 year old daughters were struggling to wrap their minds around the division algorithm. I read the chapter on division in the book, bought some base-ten blocks, and held about 8 practice sessions with the girls by following the author's instructions. My 12 year old can now easily complete the division algorithm. My 9 year old can easily divided with the base-ten blocks and is beginning to grasp the algorithm. Yea! This is super progress for them both!
