Book Description
The first of the University of California schools, the Berkeley campus opened in 1873. The 1903 Beaux-Arts master plan by John Galen Howard created a classic setting for early and later works by Bernard Maybeck, Julia Morgan, Greene & Greene, John Carl Warnecke, Edward Larrabee Barnes, Charles Moore, Donlyn Lyndon, William Turnbull, and landscape architect Lawrence Halprin.

eye-opening.......2006-04-06
I've worked at this university for many years, and walked past many of the buildings described in this book without really wondering what their stories were. This book opened my eyes to the treasures that have surrounded me. (I think of the old jazz standard "How Long Has This Been Going On?") Mr. Helfand's knowledge of the history of the campus is matched by the intelligence of his appreciation.
Excelent guide for Berkeley alum, Cal fans, etc........2006-03-23
I really enjoyed this book, and many others in the series.
I did attend Berkeley, but my interests in architecture, photography, and history- specifically that of higher education in America, made this an excellent addition for me.
Easy read, wonderful pictures... I just really enjoyed it. Great for moments of fond nostalgia. Go Bears!
amazing photos of campus, great for coffee table.......2006-01-21
this book does a great job painting berkeley in a very positive light and diving into its rich history. highly recommended because of the overall quality of the text and photographs.

Very Pleasing.......2007-05-01
I bought this book not to color in, but as a source for clear line drawings of flowers to use in other design work. It works very well for that, with nice, unfussy illustrations of the flowers. Just as important as the blooms, the leaves and stems are also accurately rendered. There is very little addition (birds, butterflies, etc.) - that's fine with me, but some users might want a more detailed picture to color. The small colored guide pic's are apparently done in colored pencil, and provide a lot of detail for realistic coloration.
My one reservation is that some of the illustrations don't show the blooms full-on, but only in profile and 3/4 views. I always want to be able to see how the center of a flower is constructed. Overall, though, very nice.
A Gardeners Must Have.......2007-04-11
Whther your thumb is green or black you cannot go wrong with this. I just purchased these Dover COloring Books for my mother and she loves them. The detail is out of this world and the variety of colors you can use are only limited by your inagination. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Great for Elderly or Alzheimers Patients .......2007-03-16
I purchased this coloring book for my grandmother who has Alzheimer's. It helps her feel as if she is accomplishing something and also she is using her mind and hands to stay in the lines. It's an ideal coloring book for anyone who wishes to color like they use to.
Love to color and learn.......2006-11-04
My daughter has enjoyed learning the names of different flowers and then coloring them. She remembers them more because she has a chance to color them. We also use the internet to look up the different flowers and learn more about them and what colors they are. She enjoys this also and it helps her to create her masterpiece.
Garden Flowers Coloring Book.......2002-07-15
Thank you Amazon for carrying a wonderful selection of Stefen Bernath's books!! I use this particular book, by Stefen as a guide for watercolour sketching and painting. Garden Flowers contains a collection of more than thirty common flowers showing detailed shape and colour, including colour guilds that can be referred to for accuracy. An excellent reference book.

Great book.......2007-08-07
I have this book. I colored all the pages. It's awesome and you learn anout different and what they specially. I got it from Ceracker Barrel and I now need a new one.
Not definately a big fan and don't want to get this book because NOT up on our western breeds.......2007-03-14
I don't think I'd want to get this book "Horses of the World Coloring Book" by John Green becuase the horses all look alike...from the fiery arabian to the Anglo Arab to the quarter horse and that there is no dished head on the arab, the quarter horse looked like a pony, no BIG rear end...the drafters, and the other European horses probably and maybe looked ok. You could tell this author was definately NOT up on our western breeds! The only horse coloring books by John Green I only like are Wonderful World of Horses Coloring Book and Favorite Horses coloring book and those will be my only two favorites from now on and never Horses of the World Coloring book because it's awful that a Quarter horse looks like a pony with no big rear end and no dished head on the Arabian and I think the price is very low on this book as well, too.
The only horse coloring books by John Green I'll only like are Wonderful World of Horses Coloring Book and Favorite Horses coloring book because those two would be a lot of fun anyway and that's a fair better choice of two.
Beautiful and unique.......2006-11-12
This is a wonderful coloring book for any young person who loves horses and has an artistic bent. I was given this book as a young girl (about 18 years ago) and spent many hours lovingly shading in each detailed illustration. Everytime I look back through it, I'm reminded of the fun I had reading through it and bringing each picture to life with color. I still keep it now after all this time because in coloring book terms, it's quite a work of art.
High Quality Coloring Books for older children.......2006-07-12
My daughter enjoyed the quality of the illistrations of horses. They were very realistic and detailed.
Quality.......2005-12-23
I'm use to my children's jumbo coloring books, with cute, simple drawings and not the best quality pages or covers. This book is a step above the average coloring book. I like the added feature of the small images that show the child the "appropriate" colors. I know my eight-year-old will love this book, and I plan to buy her the other horse coloring books by Dover.

"Green's Not Your Best Color".......2006-12-16
This is a book that I have already read and that I continue to refer back to often! One thing I like is that it truly has the potential to appeal to all generations. The author is honest and open about all topics and speaks to those topics from a teen's perspective, as well as an adult's.

Answers most asked questions about Buddhism and how to deal with anger.
Customer Reviews:
Excellent!.......2002-08-17
This is a very fine book. Chodren, a Tibetan Buddhist nun,
teaches us the basics of Buddhism in a question and answer format. She answers all kinds of questions. For the beginner
as well as the more advanced practioner. If you are confused
about whether to buy this book or her "Buddhism for Beginners",
buy this book. This book has a preamble in the beginning of each chapter that teaches you the basics. "Buddhism for Basics"
doesn't. This book also includes a section in the back on how to deal with anger. Good luck.
Not Just Another Introduction to Buddhism.......2000-02-28
I have read numerous introductory and overview books on Buddhism, so I was not expecting to learn much of anything new by reading this book, but was I wrong. This one spoke directly to me and answered a great many questions that I have had for a long time that no other book I have ever read even addressed.
This book is a great introduction to Buddhism........1999-06-19
It clearly explains the basic ideas, without excessive jargon. Important terms like "Dharma" and "Sangha" are explained, but for the most part, the ideas are explained simply, in plain English. The important concepts are explained thoroughly enough for basic understanding, but it doesn't get too deep, so it's ideal for beginners. There was a very helpful section on how to deal with anger. I heartily recommend this section especially. It is true that freeing oneself of anger is important in Dharma practice, but the simple, practical solutions in this section will be helpful to anyone that has problems with anger, Buddhist or not. In general, this book is a good jumping off point for the study of Buddhism.

Customer Reviews:
Major Disappointment.......2007-06-30
The booklet is nice but the art supplies included are barely enough for one small project. I would have been happy to pay $4 for the booklet but beyond that the value is not there. Furthermore, the art supplies included are not all the art supplies needed. So we were left to track down other supplies anyway.

This is a perfectly-sized 'lil book for the 'lil ones, either planning on a circus visit or having experienced one. Good art work on the cut-outs and a fun big-top scenario for placing all the dare-devils where they belong. Fun stuff for the car!
great value -- lots of fun for toddlers.......2002-10-03
This little 4" by 6" book contains 29 reusable stickers on four insert pages. Remove the inserts and you have a two-page panorama of a circus ring, and the images of performing dogs, horses, elephants and clowns can be placed and replaced many times. This was a terrific and inexpensive item that kept our toddler occupied on a recent plane trip -- worth its weight in gold!
Circus Sticker Activity Book by Cathy Beylon.......2001-08-15
This book was purchased as a favor for my child's circus theme birthday party and was definitely a hit with both the children and parents. The book is a perfect size for small hands and has four full pages of reusable stickers for variety in pretend play. Because of the "magnetic" aspect of the stickers, the item is perfect for travel as well. I definitely recommend this item for anyone with children in the 3-7 age group.
