I was so pleased when I stumbled across this book in my local library.
U.S. Immigration Made Easy is a godsend. It honestly has everything you'd ever want to know about every type of visa out there. It's all here, in black and white, and not in confusing legal mumbo jumbo. There is a section on each visa and its process, and at the end of each section there is a checklist with all the documents you would need. There is even an appendix of tear-out forms you can actually use. How convenient!
Organized, easy to read, and easy to understand, this book truly makes the tedious and frustrating process of immigration seem more doable and less overwhelming. Highly recommended.

Invaluable Resource!.......2002-08-27
My husband was born in Pakistan and isn't a U.S. citizen. Due to September 11 and the unstable economy, we have decided to change his status. U.S. Immigration Made Easy has given us a lot of great pointers on the process and how to best fill out all the necessary forms and paperwork. This book has been a great find. I just bought 3 additional copies for my husband's family!
My reference book!.......2002-07-20
Well organized and written, with just enough information to bring all options to the attention of the reader. Easily read and referenced, and quite comprehensive in coverage. Rare will still be the cases in which one can really do away with counsel, but it will make one a better informed client. I particularily liked inserts on new legislation and policies (helped me guide my own process), explanations on rights and obligations associated with each status, and the exhaustively explained steps and paperwork associated with the process. All editions so far have had upgrades to stay current with the ever changing policies and INS quirk "du jour". Although I do own several older editions, I typically make a point of getting a new edition every couple of years, in order to stay current on my rights as a foreigner in the US.

A Good Informative,Intutive Read.......2000-02-20
Teach Yourself cosmology, by Jim Breithaupt, 1999 provides a good overview of cosmological principals in an easy to understand, chronological format by topic. Although I have a EE degree, I haven't used any advanced math for over 20 years. I found that while reading a borrowed astrophysics text, that I ended up skimming over the many pages of math trying to grasp the concepts.
Breithaupt doesn't totally avoid math, but he limits it to an amount that most anyone can grasp, while still providing enough to support the basic concepts covered. Overall the ideas are clear, easy to grasp, and are logical; with an understanding of the experiments that help support them. Couple this with interesting history of these ideas and the people that developed them and you have an interesting and informative book.
My only criticism is that the last few chapters which deal with fundamental forces, the early universe, and into the future; present much less of the supporting experimental data with many things just stated as fact. Perhaps the author "ran out of steam" or these concepts are just too difficult to present in this level of text. I was left with a much less intuitive understanding in these areas. I will look for other books that fill these voids.
I found this book to be interesting and informative and rate it 4 stars.

Patrick Moore outlines basic principles of Astronomy
in this edition of the 'Teach Yourself' series.
Moore, an English astronomer effectively teaches the beginner how to look at the stars.
While astronomy is often associated with complex mathematics,
Moore almost completely avoids the mathematical aspects
of astronomy and simply teaches the reader how to look at the stars,
identify constellations; buy, make and use a telescope.
A great book for the beginner, Moore's bias towards accomplishments of English
Astronomers and a hint of animosity towards American accomplishments
seems to indicate that his target reading audience is of British nationality
and does take a little something away from this otherwise great book.
